Explanation:

You will need to add the sidewall area and the two end areas

Sidewall area = pi * d * h

End area = pi * r2 ======that is r squared .....note you will need two of these and that it is the radius NOT the diameter !

Add these together to find to total area in cm squared

Take it away !

Answer:

  • 175.8 cm³

Explanation:

We are given with :-

  • A cylinder has a diameter of 8 cm and height of 3 cm.

To Find :-

  • Surface Area

Answer :-

Surface area of cylinder is calculated by the formula :

  • Surface area = 2πr( r + h)
  • Where 'r' is the radius and 'h' is height.

Since diameter is 8 cm, radius will be half of the diameter and half of 8 is 4. So the radius of the cylinder is 4 cm.

On plugging the required value in the above formula, we get;

\longrightarrow 2 * 3.14 * 4 (4 + 3)

\longrightarrow 6.28 * 4 (7)

\longrightarrow 25.12 (7)

\longrightarrow 175.84

\longrightarrow 175.8 cm^2

Henceforth, The surface area of the cylinder is 175.8 cm³
