Today was a significant day because I got caught up in the confusion and ambiguity of war.
I couldn't help but feel the burden of responsibility resting on my youthful shoulders as the fires blazed all around me. I, Joan of Arc, have been chosen to lead the charge because the fate of France is on the line. It is my responsibility to motivate and encourage our men as they defend the city of Orléans against the English. The French army is exhausted and disheartened, but they have confidence in me—a simple peasant girl who has become a fighter. Both pride and trepidation at the task at hand fill my heart.
I have prayed for many hours in search of wisdom and fortitude.
