Let A (3,-7) and B (-5,-7) are two points where x1=3 , y1 = -7, x2=-5 , y2= -7

Now,

d = √ (x2- x1)^2 +(y2-y1)^2

= √ (-5-3)^2 + {-7-(-7) }^2

=. √ (-8)^2 + (-7+7)^2

=. √ 64 + (0)^2

=. √64+0

=. √64

=. √(8)^2

=. 8 units
