↑ The hydroxide of metal T reacts with nitric acid as follows: TOH(aq) + + HNO³ (ag) gives TNO³(aq) + H₂O (1). It was found that 2g of TOH reacted & with 0.0833M of nitric acid. Calculate: i) Molar mass of TOH? ii) Relative atomic mass of T and its name.

From the equation:

nTOH : nHNO3 = 1:1

Hence Moles of TOH= 0.0833M

Number of moles= mass/molar mass

Molar mass= mass/number of moles

i) *Molar mass=* *2/0.0833*
*=24g/mol*

Ii) R.a.m of T in TOH:

Molar mass of TOH= T + 16 + 1 = 24

T = 24-17

*T= 7*
And the element with mass number of 7 is *Lithium*

So TOH is {LiOH}
