The female population of britain is 32. 6 million.

the percentage of this population taking the combined contraceptive pill is 13. 2%

the combined pill is 98. 8% effective

Calculate the maximum number of females taking the combined contraceptive pill who could become pregnant

Please explain!!!

Explanation:

The 98.8% is useless, since we're calculating the maximum, not the theoretical probability of it, so I'm going to assume that it is 100% (maximum), or 1.

Since the percentage of people taking the pill is 13.2%, then it would be 32,000,000*13.2%*1, (or 0.132). The one doesn't really matter, but I added it to show you that usually, the effectiveness does get multiplied as well. This would result in 4224000 or 4.224 million. Hope this helped!
