Jill made a scale drawing of a city. The scale of the drawing was 7 inches : 5 yards. If a neighborhood park is 105 inches wide in the drawing, how wide is the actual park?

Answer:

7 inches/5 yards = 105 inches/y yards

105 ÷ 7 = 15, so y = 5 × 15 = 75.

The actual park is 75 yards wide.
