-3+√(2x-1) =8


√(2x-1) -3=8

Add 3 to both sides of the equation:


√(2x-1)-3+3=8+3


√(2x-1)=11

Solve the square root:


√(2x-1)=11


2x-1=11^(2)


2x-1=121


2x-1+1=121+1 {add 1 to both sides}


2x=122


x=122/2


x=61
