Distribute 8:

8(x - 3) = 8x - 24

8x - 24 = 8x - 24

And what I see is that the left equals the right. This means that whichever value of x I stick into the equation, the other side will always be equal to that. In equations like this, there are infinite solutions, because every single value of x out there will make the equation true.
