a) (60 - 60)/(10 - 0) = 0 m/sec.

The particle did not move in the first 10

seconds.

b) (0 - 60)/(35 - 10) = -60/25 = -12/5 =

-2.4 m/sec.

At t = 24 seconds, the particle's speed

was 2.4 m/sec.
