the area (A) of a triangle is calculated as

(1)/(2) bh ( b is the base and h the height )

given A = 840 and h = 48 , then


(1)/(2) × b × 48 = 840

24b = 840 ( divide both sides by 24 )

b = 35

then base is 35 cm
