You would add a main clause (m).

A main clause is a clause that can form a complete sentence standing alone, having a subject and a predicate.

For example: Jordan was studying.

That sentence can stand alone and show meaning but if you add it in front of your incomplete sentence it gives more detail.

Jordan was studying how to spell the words for the test.
