Answer:The probability that the number is greater than 500,000 is 1/3

Explanation:

we know that probability can be caluclated by:

probability = no.of favourable events/Total no.of possible outcomes

Given,

Since the number must be the multiple of 5, the last digit should be 5,hence we have to arrange the first 5 digits, which can be done in 6^5 ways as each digit has 6 options.

i.e. no of 6 digit numbers using 1 to6 digits that are multiple of 5 are = 6^5

Now the number must be greater than 500000 and multiple of 5. hence the first digit can either be 5 or 6 and the last digit must be 5. And the remaining 4 digits has 6 options each

i.e. no.of six-digit numbers greater than 500000 and are multiple of 5 = 2*6^4

Probability=2*6^4/6^5 = 1/3
