(- 5, 3 ) and (4, 3 )

since the points have the same y- coordinate 3 , then the points lie on the same horizontal line.

the distance d can be calculated by finding the absolute value in the difference of the x- coordinates , that is

d = | - 5 - 4 | = | - 9 | = 9 units

or

d = | 4 - (- 5) | = | 4 + 5 | = | 9 | = 9 units
