The seasons in the Northern Hemisphere are different and opposite of those in the Southern Hemisphere. Seasons occur because Earth is tilted on its axis. This tilting causes summer in one location whereas winter in other location. The Earth's tilt causes the Southern Hemisphere to lean towards the Sun during summer season of Southern Hemisphere while on the other hand, it is winter season in the Northern Hemisphere which leans away from the Sun.
