Aldosterone is responsible for regulating sodium homeostasis, thereby helping to control blood volume and blood pressure.

Aldosterone causes an increase in salt and water reabsorption into the bloodstream from the kidney, thereby increasing the blood volume, thereby restoring salt levels and blood pressure.
