5 is subtracting so when it moves to the opposite side will be adding
7+5=2X
12=2X
Now solve for X
12/2= X
6=X

Answer:

x = 6

Explanation:

Finding the unknown value of x:

7 = 2x - 5

  • Isolate x. To isolate x, first isolate the term having x by adding 5 to both sides.

7 + 5 = 2x - 5 +5

12 = 2x

  • Divide both sides by 2.

12÷2 = 2x ÷ 2

6 = x

\boxed{\bf x = 6}
