8+4+2+1+1=16
The denominator would be 16. If 8 children speak Chinese, the fraction would be 8/16. We can simplify that answer into 1/2. Why? Because 8 divided by 8 is 1, and 16 divided by 8 is 2. Therefore, 1/2 is your answer.
