The answer is:

(-2, -6)

Work/explanation:

We need to subtract the two equations:

\begin{cases}\sf{2x-3y=14}\\\sf{2x+y=-10}\end{cases}

\sf{2x-2x-3y-y=14-(-10)}

\sf{-4y=14+10}

\sf{-4y=24}

Divide each side by -4:

\sf{y=-6}

Now plug the solution for y, which is -6, into any equation:

2x + (-6) = -10

2x - 6 = -10

2x = -10 + 6

2x = -4

x = -2

Hence, the answer to the system is (-2, -6).
