This week Harry spent 1/2 of his pocket money on a ticket for a football match he also spent 1/8 of his pocket money on the scarf at the match what fraction of his pocket money has had already spent

Hey, the answer is 5/8. You just add 1/2 and 1/8, however, since they don’t have the same denominator you can’t add them right away. You’ll have to multiply by the other fraction’s denominator, e.g. 1/2 by 8 and 1/8 by 2. This will get you to 10/16. And this can be simplified by dividing by 2, which is 5/8. I’ve attached a picture of the working and a diagram to help as well :)
