Explanation:

Let the score he needs to get in the 4th game be x,

Now, to get an average of 200 for the 4 games,

The sum of his scores of the 4 games divided by the number of games (i.e 4) must equal 200, i.e,

Average = (sum of scores of the 4 games)/the number of games

Number of games = 4, and we know the scores of the 3 games

and also the avergae that we need to get, putting all this into the formula ,we get,

200 = (150 + 220 + 180 + x)/4

200 = (550 + x)/4

200 = 550/4 + x/4

200 = 275/2 + x/4

200 - 275/2 = x/4

125/2 = x/4

x = 4(125/2)

x = 2(125)

x = 250
