The angle of elevation to the top of a mountain is 45°. If i walk 100m further away the angle of elevation is 44°. What is the height of the mountain to 1 decimal place

tan 44° = y/(x + 100)

tan 45° = y/x

1 = y/x

x = y

tan 44° = y/(y + 100)

y = 0.96568877y + 96.568877

0.0343113y = 96.568877

y = 2814.5
