Genocide can be defined as deliberately killing a large group of people from a specific ethnicity, race, religion, etc with the intention of wiping out that group. The Holocaust was an effort to wipe out the Jewish people during World War 2. There were an estimated 6 million Jewish people killed, alongside millions of others. Since the intention of the people behind the Holocaust was to completely wipe out the Jewish people, it is an example of genocide due to not only the intention of removing the Jewish people but also because of the millions of casualties.
