Answer:

The possible outcomes are {1,2,3,4,5,6}

Probability of rolling a 2 or less is 1/3

Explanation:

When rolling a six-sided number cube, the possible outcomes are rolling a

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or a 6

We can write this as a sample set = {1,2,3,4,5,6}

Now, assuming that the cube is fair, meaning there is equal probability of rolling any number.

Now, since there are 6 possibilities, the probability of rolling any number is 1/6, so, Probability of

rolling a 1 + rolling a 2 + rolling a 3 + rolling a 4 + rolling a 5 + rolling a 6

= 1/6 + 1/6 + 1/6 + 1/6 + 1/6 + 1/6 = 6/6 = 1

So, This means that we are always going to roll one of these numbers (one side of the cube has to face upwards and so on)

Now, the probability of rolling a 2 or less will be the sum of rolling a 2 and rolling a 1 so,

Probability of rolling a 2 or less = probability of rolling a 2 + probability of rolling a 1 = 1/6 + 1/6 = 2/6 = 1/3

Hence it is 1/3
