the force will be 4 units

Consider two objects of masses m1 and m2

, separated by a distance r.

According to Newton's law of gravitation,

F=(G M1 m2)/r²

On doubling the distance between two masses the gravitational force between them will become one-fourth.

16 x 1/4= 4 units
