After simplification, we get 1/2

Explanation:

Using the distributive property means that for an expression like,

a(b+c) , a gets multiplied to both b and c,or,

a(b+c) = ab + ac

In our case, we have,


2/3(1/4+1/2)

Using the distributive property,


2/3(1/4+1/2) = (2/3)(1/4)+(2/3)(1/2)\\= 2/12 + 2/6\\= 1/6 + 2/6\\=(1+2)/6\\= 3/6\\=1/2

Hence after simplification, we get 1/2
