Intersection is the common part of the two intervals:

  • A ∩ B =
  • [- 1, 3] ∩ (0, 4) =
  • (0, 3]

Union is the add up of the two intervals:

  • A ∪ B =
  • [- 1, 3] ∪ (0, 4) =
  • [- 1, 4)
