What is the formula for manganese (IV) oxide?

Manganese (IV) means that the oxidation state of manganese is +4, and the oxidation state of oxygen is -2, these charges will be switched and since both numbers are multiples of 2, 2 can cancel out, the 4 will become 2 and the 2 from the oxygen will become 1. Hence the formula is MnO2
