X+5<5x-3 solve the equation.

You can work with inequalities just as with equations but you need to take care, that when you multiply by a negative number the inequality sign switches the “direction” (but this is not necessary here)

x+5<5x-3
x+8<5x
8<5x-x
8<4x
2
That means, all numbers in the (right-) open interval (-infty , 2) are solutions. On the numberline, this would correspond to all numbers LEFT of 2 (NOT INCLUDING 2)
