What is the length, in units, of FG?

Answer:

FG = 15 units

Explanation:

F(7, - 1 ) and G(- 8, - 1 )

since the y- coordinates of both points are - 1

then F and G lie on the same horizontal line

the length of FG is the absolute value of the difference of the x- coordinates, that is

FG = | - 8 - 7 | = | - 15 | = 15 units

or

FG = | 7 - (- 8) | = | 7 + 8 | = | 15 | = 15 units
