Step-by-step explanation:

Oxidation: loss of electrons, Reduction: gain of electrons

in NH3, the charges are (-3 +3)=0. in NH4OH, the charge is (-3 +4 -2 +1)=0

Unless I'm wrong (which is def possible), N keeps a -3 charge, H is always +1, O is always -2, and both sides of the equation are neutral over all.
