using Pythagoras' identity in the right triangle.

x² + 7² = 16²

x² + 49 = 256 ( subtract 49 from both sides )

x² = 207 ( take square root of both sides )

the perimeter (P) is then the sum of the 3 sides

P = 7 + 16 + 14.4 = 37.4 m
