If you wish to get respect from others, we should learn to respect others too.
Treating others how you wish to be treated by them is: equality. We should not expect to receive kindness from others if we weren’t kind to them in the first place. No matter what you have gone through, you should never hate on someone who didn’t do anything towards you. We are all different people with different personalities, however kindness and compassion towards others shows what kind of a person you are, despite every circumstance you are going through. You never really are aware of what others have been through, they’ve probably lost a loved one or just got diagnosed with an incurable disease. In those times, respect, compassion and kindness is most needed. There isn’t always a guarantee that they are going to show respect towards you like you did, however, deep down, you know you were there when that person needed someone to support them during that time, they will appreciate it, but they may not show it. In the event that you do get a token of respect as a return from your kind actions, you know you worked for it, not just expected it to happen without making an effort.
