This proved similarity, but not necessarily congruency. If the angles are the same in a triangle, they could be smaller and larger versions of themselves. They will have the same shape, but not necessary the same size. The side lengths will be proportional. If the scale factor between the two triangles is 1 , then the triangles would be congruent, but they could have any scale factor greater or less than 1 too.
