Howard has a garden in the shape of a rectangle. The length is 6 meters. The width is 8 meters. Howard will increase both the length and the width by 20% each. What will be the perimeter, in meters, of the enlarged garden?

Answer:

Perimeter= 33.6m

Explanation:

To calculate the perimeter of the enlarged garden you have to find the enlarged arden value.

(6/100)× 20 = 1.20

6+1.20= 7.20m

Similarly, (8/100)×20= 1.6

8+1.6= 9.6m

Perimeter=2(7.20 + 9.6)

= 33.6 m
