width = 18 m

Explanation:

Area of square and area of rectangle are equal.

Square:

side = 12 m

Area = side *side

= 12 * 12

= 144 m²

Rectangle:

length = 8 m

Area of rectangle = length * width

= 8 *width

Area of rectangle = area of square

8* width= 144

width = 144 ÷ 8
