The Renaissance music we study covers the time period from roughly the 14th to the 17th century. The Renaissance era in music is commonly regarded as spanning from around 1400 to 1600. It was a period of significant artistic, cultural, and intellectual flourishing in Europe, and it brought about notable developments in music composition, theory, and performance. Prominent composers of the Renaissance include Josquin des Prez, Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, Orlando di Lasso, and Thomas Tallis, among others.
