Step-by-step explanation: To calculate the no. of ways Jason can arrange 8 books on the shelf we use 8!

8!= 8×7×6×5×4×3×2×1= 40,420

The no. of ways Jenna can arrange 7 books on the shelf is 7!

7!= 7×6×5×4×3×2×1= 5040

Hence, the difference between these values is,

40,320-5040=35,280
