Read this passage from “Dover Beach.” What is the main idea of this passage?

…for the world, which seems
To lie before us like a land of dreams,
So various, so beautiful, so new,
Hath really neither joy, nor love, nor light,
Nor certitude, nor peace, nor help for pain;

The world offers us nothing

The world is full of promise

The world is a land of dreams

The world is our enemy

Answer: I belive the answer is either A or D

Explanation: B and C are not true cause the story doesn't talk about their hope,love, and joy instead it talks the opposite so I think the answer is rather A or D
