Shaima has 1/4 of a cake. She divides the cake into three pieces and eats one of the pieces. What fraction of Shaima's cake is left? Show your working.​

Explanation:

1/4÷3=

1/4÷3/1=

1/4x1/3=1/12

So each slice is 1/12 of the original cake. So if she eats one slice there are still two slices left.

1/12+1/12=2/12

2/12=1/6
