k=12

Explanation:

Top left angle is 84 degrees also, due to alternate interior angles cut by the transveral.

2 sides are congruent, leaving bottom left corner angle also 84 degrees.

Write an equation to solve for k:

84+84+k=180

simplify

168+k=180

subtract 168 from both sides

k=12
