Why is it possible to de-extinct a Willy mammoth, but not a dinosaur? Use details from the text to support your answer

Answer: You would need a species that is rather genetically close to the original species.

For instance, mammoths are related to elephants therefore you could take traits from a mammoth and implant it within an elephant species. Dinosaurs, however, have been extinct much too long for us to get any sort of DNA samples or traits to insert into say a chicken or a shark.
