Napoleon might want Boxer gone in chapter 9 of Animal Farm because he is no longer useful to the pigs. Boxer has worked hard all his life and has become injured, but instead of receiving proper medical care, he is sent to a glue factory to be slaughtered for profit. Napoleon sees Boxer as a liability rather than an asset and is willing to betray him for his own gain.
