28 x 4 = 112

1. The base of the pyramid is a square so the base of all of the triangles will be 14in.

2. Since the height of the triangle is 4in, the area of 1 triangle will be (14x4)/2 which is 28in^2.

3. Because we are finding lateral area we only need to find the area of the triangles so you do 28x4 which is 112in^2.

Another easy way to find the lateral area of a pyramid is by finding the perimeter of the base which in this case is 56, multiplying it by the slant height which in this case is 4 and dividing by 2. The equation would be (56x4)/2 which is also 112.
