• any lower base angle is supplementary to any upper base angle

• the upper base angles are congruent

then

4x + 6x + 20 = 180

10x + 20 = 180 ( subtract 20 from both sides )

10x = 160 ( divide both sides by 10 )

x = 16

so

6x + 20 = 6(16) + 20 = 96 + 20 = 116

and

y = 116 ( upper base angles are congruent )
