There are two boxes and each box has two drawers. There is a 3/4 chance of selecting the big box and 1/4 chance of selecting the small box. The top and bottom drawers have a 1/2 chance of being chosen. If a prize is hidden in the top drawer of the big box, what is the probability that you will win this prize?

37.5% because the bigger box has a chance of opening of 0.75 and each drawer has a 0.5 so we multiply them we get 0.375 which is equal to 37.5%

Answer: 0.375 or 37.5%

Explanation:

Probability of choosing big box: 0.75

Probability of choosing top drawer (only of big box): 0.5

Multiply them together to get probability of both happening: 0.75*0.5=0.375
