SECTION A: SHORTER TRANSACTIONAL WRITING: DIARY ENTRY

Aisha is shocked when she must leave school. The risks she takes in the story
show that she wants more from life. She says, "If I don't go, I will always be
stuck here. It will be the same back-breaking work, day in, day out...
There must be more to life than this." She wants to change her life and decides
to leave for the city without her sister Linda.
Imagine you are Aisha. Write TWO diary entries about your feelings and
expectations. The first entry must indicate how you felt before you left for the city,
and the second one must express how you feit after you left your home.
Your response should be 80-100 words in length.

Diary Entry 1:
Dear Diary,
Before leaving for the city, I am filled with a mixture of excitement and trepidation. The thought of leaving my familiar surroundings and embarking on a new adventure both thrills and scares me. Deep down, I know that I cannot continue living a life of monotony and back-breaking work. I yearn for something more, something different. Although I feel a pang of guilt for leaving Linda behind, I am determined to pursue my dreams and find my place in the world. The anticipation is overwhelming, and I hope that this leap of faith will lead me to a life that is truly fulfilling.
Yours,
Aisha

Diary Entry 2:
Dear Diary,
After leaving my home, I am filled with a sense of liberation and hope. The city has welcomed me with open arms, and I am amazed by the opportunities and possibilities that surround me. Although I miss Linda dearly, I know that I have made the right decision. The bustling streets, the vibrant atmosphere, and the chance to pursue my passions have breathed new life into my soul. It is not always easy, and there are challenges along the way, but I am determined to overcome them and carve out a new path for myself. The journey has just begun, and I am excited to see what the future holds.
Yours,
Aisha
