Jane's chocolate bar is 51% cocoa. If the weight of the chocolate bar is 76 grams, how many grams of cocoa does it contain? Round your answer to the nearest tenth.

Answer: 38.76 grams

Explanation:

Well, we already know the easiest way to do this, is first figure out 50 percent, because 51 percent is so close to it. To do this, divide the original number in half (76 divided by 2), which is 38. Then we have to find one percent of 76, which means we have to move the decimal over twice, giving us .76 = 1%. Then add that and 50 percent to get 51% which is 38.75 grams.
