approx. 68% of data lie within 1 standard deviation of the mean.

95% of data lie within 2 standard deviations of the mean.

99.7% of data lie within 3 standard deviations of the mean.

2 standard deviations = 2 X 6 = 12.

so 95% of the data will be between 62 and 86.
