C. 4/7

Parallel lines have the same slope, so u must find the slope of line a
To find the slope you take two points and use the formula (y2-y1)/x2-x1
The two points given are (-7,0) and (0,4)
To figure it out fill in the formula with the points
Slope= 4-0/0-(-7)
=4/7

Answer:

The answer is C.4/7

Explanation:

First of all, parallel lines have the same gradient (slope), so if you find the slope for line A this will be the same slope as the line parallel to it (line A).

  • Step 1: find any two points from line A.

point 1: (0,4) Where,
x_(1) =0 and
y_(1)=4

point2: (-7,0) Where,
x_(2) =-7 and
y_(2) =0

  • Step2: write the formula of the slope:

m=(y_(2)-y_(1) )/(x_(2) -x_(1) )

  • Step3: substitute the numbers in the formula:

m=(0-4)/(-7-0)

  • Step4: simplify the formula to get the answer to the slope:

m=(-4)/(-7)

=(4)/(7)

  • So the answer is:

C. 4/7

(note: this is the slope of line A and any line parallel to line A)
