How is 4.4^x the same as 4^x+1????

From laws of indices, we know that;

a^(x) × a^(y) = a^(x + y)

Similarly, in our question, 4 • 4^(x) implies that; 4¹ × 4^(x)

Since 4 can be also expressed as 4¹.

Thus,this equals; 4^(x + 1)

This expression is same as the other one given in the question as 4^(x + 1).

Thus, 4 • 4^(x) is the same as 4^(x + 1).
